Ordering Custom Cycling Clothing with Renner Custom
So you are ready to place an order? Here is a general timeline of the ordering process. Along with several things that you should be sure to consider before placing your kit order.
Our number one suggestion when ordering custom clothing, is to give yourself TIME. We suggest that all custom cycling clothing orders be started at a minimum of 14 weeks ahead of when you plan to need your order. If you can order even earlier, even better!
The timeline we suggest working with is:
2-3 weeks on your design - It’s always best to come up with your general design and concept for a jersey even before you have sponsors, etc. on board. This way you can simply add sponsors as you approach your deadline and have the cycling kit designed without any problem. Be sure to set a firm deadline with sponsors. Let them know a delay on their part in making a call will only delay the amount of time they will benefit from advertising. It is also during this time that you need to start to firm up the orders from team members.
If you are looking to color match your design so that your order will match existing kit, the best way to do so is to send us one item with a good representation of the color(s) desired.
2 weeks for communication with Renner Custom on your order and design. – This amount of time gives us plenty of time to work out any details, suggest design changes and help your design be that much better. This is also the time when you need to finalize your team’s order and the amounts that you will be ordering. Remember that it’s always best to order a few extra jersey’s, shorts and skinsuits because people always want more, crashes happen, and extra club members join all the time. Re-orders are charged an additional €75.00 set-up fee.
6 to 8 weeks for the production of your clothing – Once we have initiated your clothing order, any changes to the order will push your order back to the start of the production line! So it is extremely important to make sure that your order is correct from the start to avoid any delays.The amount of time it takes us to complete your order depends on the time of year. Sometimes it can arrive in less time during slow periods, but if your order is in late November to January, production will be the full 8 weeks.
1 week for shipping. - Once your clothing is ready it generally takes no more than 1 week to arrive to most destinations in the world. If you choose to ship via regular Belgian Post (Kilopost International) we have had packages get caught up in customs for upwards of a week before, so we prefer to avoid this shipping method. We also find the price difference is greatly reduced once an order reaches 10kg’s (24 lbs) in weight.
So giving yourself time, a full 14 weeks from when you want to order is the something to think about.
